Sarah Stockler-Rex, MA, CHI-Spanish

Sarah has worked as a Spanish medical interpreter, in both onsite and remote modalities, for over 10 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Linguistics and recently completed a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics with a specialization in Language Testing. Sarah is in constant pursuit of providing the highest caliber language access via quality assurance and training solutions.

She currently oversees Martti’s Interpreting Quality & Training Department: a team dedicated to leadership, coaching and mentoring to support continued interpreter skill development. Additionally, Sarah has served as a Subject Matter Expert for test development and other areas for the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters. To maintain her interpreting skills, Sarah provides volunteer interpreting services for nonprofit clinics and community healthcare events. One language-related life goal for Sarah would be to dispel the prescriptivist myth that any one language variety is superior to another!

Dieter Runge, M.Ed.

Dieter has shaped his career around his belief in the power of technology to improve quality of life needs and to improve global equity and equality goals. Initially in the film, digital media, and e-learning space, and more recently in the language services and technologies sector. Dieter has held a variety of roles in R&D, business operations and sales and marketing with language service companies in the US, Canada, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

More recently, Dieter co-founded Silicon Valley start-up Boostlingo. Now headquartered in Austin, Texas, Boostlingo develops software for the language services, corporate enterprise, and telehealth industries. Boostlingo software provides interpretation management and communications platforms that host face-to-face and on-demand over-the-phone, video remote interpretation and multilingual remote simultaneous conferencing interpreting.

Dieter holds a B.A. in Radio, Film and Television from San Jose State University and an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from McGill University. He currently splits his time between the Boostlingo offices in Austin and his beach town home base near Sydney Australia.

Caroline Remer, MA

Caroline has been in the language interpretation space for more than 13 years as a Spanish interpreter and with Boostlingo since May 2018. She has been fortunate to be able to live abroad most of her educational career, doing her undergrad at sister school of USF, Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, Spain, studying international relations and Spanish. She finished her Masters in Peace, Conflict and Development Studies in 2015 at UNESCO sponsored Universitat Jaume I in Castellon de la Plana, Spain, where she finished a 200-page dissertation translated into Spanish and English regarding the power of food in creating intercultural dialogue.

Caroline moved back to her hometown of San Francisco in 2015 after finishing her studies and entered into the Social Work field, working as part of a care team to serve low-income, Spanish-speaking older adults. After transitioning from the Social Work field, she found Boostlingo where she manages a robust network of Professional Remote interpreters, ensuring quality, advocating and promoting career development for interpreters, and hosting a myriad of social media efforts and webinars for remote interpreters. As an interpreter herself, she loves working with and promoting the role of the interpreter both in a patient’s care team and in every facet of life. 

Danielle Meder, RID-NIC

Danielle Meder is a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter with over 15 years in the interpreting industry; she is also a licensed trainer of The Community Interpreter, International. In 2017, Danielle completed the Certificate in Healthcare Interpreting program at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. She has lived and worked all over the country and has spent much of her career in remote positions as a health care interpreter and operations leader with large language access companies.

Danielle serves on the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care’s Board of Directors as well as a member of the Policy, Education, and Research committees. She regularly presents at national and international events as well as conducts webinars and training for both spoken and sign language interpreters. Danielle is fiercely committed to equitable language access, the communicative autonomy of all, and the advancement of the interpreting profession.

Tatiana González-Cestari, PhD, CHI-Spanish

Tatiana has 20 years of combined experience as a pharmacist, pharmacologist, researcher, professor, manager, and remote interpreter. Tatiana is passionate about quality, compliance and cultural sensitivity in language access. She serves as the Director of Language Service Advocacy at Martti by UpHealth where she helps partners in healthcare with best practices, compliance and cultural sensitivity in language access.

She is part of the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care’s Board of Directors and Policy, Education and Research committee and a contributor to Martti’s blog. Tatiana has mentored, developed training, presented at events, published peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles, and lectured at various universities since 2003. Tatiana obtained her pharmacy degree and her Ph.D. in pharmacology from Universidad Central de Venezuela.  

Marjory A. Bancroft, MA

Marjory, a U.S. immigrant from Canada, has been an international leader in community interpreting. She has lived in eight countries and studied seven languages. Language and culture are the tapestry of her life. In 2001, she founded Cross-Cultural Communications (CCC). The author of numerous publications, training curricula and trainer guides, Marjory speaks and keynotes widely at conferences across the U.S. and abroad. She sits on international committees and is the world Project Leader for a new ISO International Standard on general interpreting.  Marjory’s special passion is refugee and victim services interpreting, which lie at the intersection of medical, mental health and legal interpreting.

Marjory has worked as an author or editor on CCC's full range of interpreting textbooks and publications. 

Katharine Allen, MA

Katharine Allen is a community and conference-trained interpreter with over 3 decades experience interpreting, training, and designing curricula. She holds a bachelor’s degree in community development from Brown University and a master’s degree in translation and interpretation (MATI) from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.

Katharine taught for the Glendon College Masters of Conference Interpreting Program at York University, Toronto and currently teaches for the UMASS Amherst Online Certificate in Translation and Interpretation.

Katharine is an author of The Community Interpreter: An International Textbook, The Medical Interpreter: A Foundation Textbook for Medical Interpreting, and The Community Interpreter: An International Workbook of Activities and Role Plays, as well as the Breaking Silence: Interpreting for Victim Services workbook, glossary, and training manual, and The Indigenous Interpreter® training manual and workbook.
