Emily Lemonds Ewing discovered her calling on two continents. After earning her MA in Spanish at Middlebury College's Madrid campus, she spent five years teaching English in Spain—an experience that fundamentally shaped how she views language as power and access.
Returning to her native St. Louis, Emily launched her interpreting career in 2021. Within four years, she earned both her Certified Healthcare Interpreter™-Spanish credential and Missouri court interpreter certification. Now at LAMP Interpreters, she trains the next generation while teaching medical students and healthcare providers how to partner effectively with interpreters.
For Emily, interpreting means restoring communicative autonomy to every person who walks through a clinic or courtroom door. She's passionate about training because good intentions must become measurable outcomes—and she knows that interpreters are the key. They're thoughtful professionals who seek not just skills, but a deeper understanding of the profound impact they make with every conversation they bridge.
