A graduate from the University of Delaware’s School of Public Policy and Administration, Dr. Solano has been active in the fields of access to language, cultural competence, and education.
At present, she serves as Coordinator of the Talbot Language and Cultural Competence Project (Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center), and ESL Transition Specialist (Chesapeake College).
Dr. Solano’s interpreting experience includes Maryland’s Court Interpreters Program and Cross-Cultural Communications’ Training of Trainers Program. She particularly enjoys interpreting for mental health therapies and academic activities.
As a leader of the Hispanic Community, she loves empowering people through education and access to resources.
Dr. Solano also has a passion for the natural environment. She collaborates with organizations such as the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy and Chesapeake Bay Foundation, helping to protect and preserve Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore.
