Miguel has been involved in the language industry since 1998 working mainly as an interpreter for English, Spanish and Portuguese with various tourism agencies in Venezuela. Since 2008 he has been working in the United States mostly as an English Spanish interpreter in community settings. His translation career has also been focused in the medical and pharmaceutical field. He also translates a variety of commercial material and legal documents from English and Portuguese into Spanish.
Miguel is a Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI™-Spanish) and holds a master’s degree in translation from Kent State University. He is also a member of the American Translators Association (ATA), the New England Translators Association (NETA) and the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA). He currently works as adjunct professor of Spanish at Western Connecticut State University.
