Alma Y. Enright, CHI (Certified Healthcare Interpreter) has been a Licensed Cross-Cultural Communications, LLC Licensed Instructor for The Community Interpreter, Cultural Competence and Medical Terminology courses as well as a Deemed Qualified Spanish Interpreter since 2012. She is also a Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter Trainer since 2015
She started her career working with languages as a community volunteer with several churches and nonprofit organizations including Southeast Associate Ministries (SEAM) and has worked with private and public entities and corporations including Pizza Hut, Papa John’s as well as in the banking industry, sales, and management.
From translating the written word for Marketing materials to interpreting orally in medical, legal, family services and business class settings, Alma takes great pride in ensuring that ethical and procedural standards are always professionally maintained and that the true message is faithfully delivered in both English and Spanish.
Alma has trained hundreds of interpreters through Catholic Charities and continues to freelance as an Independent Contractor for multiple agencies. As part of her weekly activities, she connects her former students with work opportunities.
Most recently Alma instructed a summer class for Jefferson County Public Schools focusing on exposing juniors and seniors to opportunities in the interpretation field.
