I am a United States native, and I have been studying the Hmong language for over 12 years. I have 7 years of experience in interpreting and 6 years of professional translating experience, along with an additional 3 years of experience doing volunteer translating. I am constantly studying to improve my skills, and I have had formal translation and interpreting training, having obtained an AAS degree in translating and interpreting from Century Colleges in White Bear Lake, MN.
I work as a freelance interpreter/translator, and I am a licensed trainer of The Community Interpreter International. I also do interpreter testing. I have an OPI rating from ACTFL of Superior for both English and Hmong. I also had the privilege of serving as an SME for test development for CCHI this year as well.
I have come to love and appreciate the Hmong culture so much and I have immersed myself in it to improve my understanding of the people behind the words. I love to read, and fitness is my passion. I am an obsessive perfectionist which lends itself well to this field! Though I am not a native Hmong speaker, no one can surpass me for passion and diligence in studying the Hmong language!
