Lorena grew up in the US, Latin America and Spain. Her love for languages led her to the Monterey Institute, where she earned her MA in Interpreting & Translation. She's worked as a professional, certified interpreter for over 20 years and is now helping train the next generation of interpreters. As a licensed trainer for CCC, she hopes to share real-life insights and her mastery of consecutive, simultaneous and sight translation with others interested in entering the interpreting profession. Specializing in medical and legal interpreting, with a lively, fun, yet serious approach to teaching, Lorena aims to elevate the level of community interpreting across the nation. Her efforts advocating for the profession are as a member of the ATA's Interpreter Division Leadership Council and the California Workers' Compensation Interpreting Association (CWCIA).
