Born in El Salvador, Sara and her family immigrated to the US when she was 7 years old. Upon arrival, Sara and her family applied for political asylum. Eventually they became U.S. Citizens. Sara first interpreted as a 9 year old, when her very pregnant cousin went into labor. Years later, that experience became the driving force to educate those who desire to become successful interpreters and make a difference in lives of the non-English speaking community. She has been a court certified interpreter in the states of MO and IA for more than 15 years. In 2014, Sara also became certified as a medical interpreter through CCHI. She owns Interpreters, Inc., an interpreting agency that provides interpreting in the legal and medical settings. Sara's 17 years of experience as an interpreter has given her a true understanding of what it takes to be a professional and qualified interpreter. In 2008 she teamed with a local college to design and implement a one year course in foreign language interpreting. And last but not least, she has been a TCI licensed trainer offering workshops for the last four years.
