Katty Kauffman

Katty has served as official interpreter at a number of meetings of Heads of State, including four Summits of the Americas, as well as at a variety of events organized by international organizations. Since 2000, she has served as a contract interpreter at the UN’s Economic Commission on Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and works regularly for the U.S. Embassy and the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Santiago, working with high profile visitors, including several members of the royal family.

She has further served as a staff interpreter with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and listed with the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC.

Katty is an active interpreter trainer. She has taught Professional Ethics at the School of Translation and Interpretation at Uniacc University in Santiago, Court Interpreting in the Master’s in Conference Interpreting at York University (Glendon Campus) in Toronto, Canada and lectured extensively in the United States on recent changes to criminal procedure in Latin America.
