Webinar

Certified, Irreplaceable, Indispensable

Live session: August 5, 2026 7:00 pm
- 8:00 pm
Presenter: Natalya Mytareva & Michael Nemarich

How do certified interpreters impact the communities, institutions and patients they serve?  As the demand for language access services grows across ever more diverse patient populations, certified interpreters remain the cornerstone of safe, equitable, and legally sound communication in clinical settings. This collaborative webinar, co-presented by CCHI and NAATI, brings together two of the world’s leading interpreter certification bodies for a frank, forward-looking conversation about state of our profession. Through a wide-ranging conversation, we will discuss the history and the future of certification in the profession. Drawing on the complex US landscape, New Zealand’s regulatory journey, and Australia’s policy innovations, this session equips interpreters with the knowledge, language, and confidence to articulate the tangible, irreplaceable impact they have on the patients and communities they serve. Certification is not merely a credential; it is a standard of care.
